Claudia Lydia Urias

It is with great sadness the family of Claudia Lydia Urias (Glendale) announces her passing at the age of 85 on November 25, 2022. God received a special angel that day. Claudia was preceded in death by her brother Joe and granddaughters Gina and Jessica. Claudia was a wife for many years to Ismael Urias, and is survived by her children David (Erin) Urias, Delia Lapizco, Ruben (Lori) Urias, Rita (George) Tesch, Sylvia Urias, Sandy Urias Barry, Vickie (Rick) Baratko and Rene (Sharon) Urias. She was our mom, our rock and our confidant. She was a Nana to 21, a Great Nana to 30 and a Great Great Nana to 7 — and will be dearly missed by all.

Claudia cared for others and would often be seen helping those she loved. Claudia worked at Honeywell for many years, up until her retirement. She was known to wake up early to make her very special (made with love) breakfast burritos for her co-workers. Claudia loved mariachi music and watching the Raiders play. With much of her loving family by her side, joy in her heart and soul and no pain, she peacefully left this earth.

A memorial service for Claudia will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuaries Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
