Clifford LaVerne Wood passed away July 11, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born August 3, 1941 in Stanley, Wisconsin to LaVerne and Arbutus Konsella Wood. He proudly served in the Army and served as a sharpshooter in the Vietnam War. Early on, he worked for a flying service but in his latter years work as a truck driver for Swift Transportation. Clifford loved to spend his free time working on cars. He had an appreciation for classic cars as well. Clifford is preceded in death by his father LaVerne Wood and his brother Darold Wood. He is survived by his son Edward Wood; his step-son Barry Pennell; his mother Arbutus Wood; his sister Patsy Hauptman; his brother Jerry Wood and several grandchildren. A Visitation will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 4-7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Greer Wilson Chapel 5921 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, Arizona 85033. A Military Service will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:30 am at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
