Corein Ruth Christiansen

Corein Ruth Christiansen was born on April 5th, 1954 in Shelley, Idaho to parents, Alvin and Lucy Brunson. She attended Bonneville High School and graduated in 1972. After graduation, she went on to Ricks College-Idaho in 1974.

She served a mission to Taiwan for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 1975 to 1977. Her mission and what she experienced there had a lasting impact on her throughout her life. After returning home from her mission, Corein went on to continue her studies at Brigham Young University. It was while attending there in 1978, she met the love of her life, Daniel Christiansen working in the cafeteria in the Provo Utah Temple. They were married shortly thereafter on January 25th, 1979.

Dan and Corein spent 47 happy years together; residing in Phoenix, Arizona from 1982 to the time of her passing. They raised two daughters together; Tiffany and Arianne. Tiffany was adopted in 1986 and Arianne was adopted in 1988. Corein was a loving stay at home mother who enjoyed raising her children and her church service.

Having a love for music and teaching, Corein exhibited these skills both at home and in her many callings with the church. She travelled with her husband to various places within the United States and abroad, continued her education, served the church, studied scripture doctrine and loved her family deeply.

Corein is survived by her husband, Daniel; daughters Tiffany and Arianne; grand-daughter Ayana; and siblings Burdette, Clairice, C.R., Coleen, Celia, Christopher and Carolyn. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; Lucy and Alvin (Clarence) Brunson and her brother Terry Brunson.

A visitation will be held on January 23, 2026, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 3601 E Shea Blvd, Phoenix, AZ 85028.

The funeral service will follow on the same day at the same location from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A committal service will take place at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
