

Cynthia Marie (Thompson) Lorenz, 55, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on July 12, 2025. Cynthia was born on January 8, 1970 (the youngest and “only girl” of three children) to Bunita Ann (Beal) and Robert Lee Thompson in Fort Fairfield, Maine.
When Cynthia was around 9 years old her parents relocated to San Diego, California. Cynthia completed elementary school and graduated from Junipero Serra High School. Cynthia went on to earn her associate’s degree at San Diego Miramar College. While attending school she had her first child.
Cynthia and her son moved to Arizona so she could continue her education in Social Work at NAU and received her Bachelor's degree.
While going to school, Cynthia met and married her husband, Monty. Together they raised three children: Jordan, CC, and Shaley.
After graduating from college, Cynthia worked in her field. She assisted people in securing housing, employment and all basic living needs. Additionally, she worked with juvenile corrections at Eagle Point Juvenile Corrections facility in Buckeye, Arizona for about 8 years.
Cynthia was hardworking and loved her family more than anything in the world. She was forced to retire due to illness.
She will be remembered for her caring heart and willingness to help others.
Cynthia leaves behind her husband of 13 years, Monty; her children Jordan Johnson, CC Matus and Shaley Lorenz, her father Robert Lee Thompson. and her brothers Robert (Cindy) Thompson Jr., and Randall (Sylvia) Thompson.
She was greeted in heaven by her mother and grandparents.
