Cynthia Lynn Murto

Cynthia's passing came just four weeks after the loss of her husband of 43 years, Charles Murto, who passed away on August 15. Their lives were intertwined for more than four decades, and together they built a family that will carry their love, traditions, and memories forward for generations.

Cynthia is survived by her children, Joanne (Marlene), Desire’ (Christopher), Ashley (Rick), Nichole (Peter), and Bryan (Whitney); her 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; along with extended family and many friends who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine, and her husband, Charles.

Cynthia's greatest legacy can be found in the family she loved and the life they created together. She loved deeply, and some of the things that brought her the greatest joy were often the simplest—time with her family, turtles, puppies, trips to Vegas and Disneyland with the grandkids, and being surrounded by the people she loved.

Her final weeks were a reflection of just how deeply she was loved in return. Her children and family spent those weeks by her side—loving her, caring for her, advocating for her, talking to her, and simply being together.

Cynthia leaves behind generations of people whose lives are forever connected because of her. While losing both Cynthia and Charles within four weeks of one another brings an immeasurable sense of loss, their family will continue forward, carrying the memories, traditions, laughter, and love that began with them.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A joint celebration of life for Cynthia and Charles will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the home of their daughter Ashley and son-in-law Rick Bowers. Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate them together. Additional details will follow.
