Born Darlene Williams on March 14th, 1959 in Louisville, KY to James and EmmaJean Williams number 3 of 5 children. Darlene showed high intelligence and wisdom beyond her years at an early age. This potential led to a decision to pursue a career in the US Air Force in 1979. She moved to Great Falls, MT with her oldest daughter Charlene. In 1980 she met former husband Kevin Adams also a member of the US Air Force and they were wed Oct 24, 1980 in a union that lasted 24years. After her retirement from the USAF and the birth of daughter Adela, the family moved to Goldsboro, NC. Darlene then pursued her passion of cooking, impressing people the world over with her talent. Starting at the Officers club at Seymour Johnson AFB, she rose within the cooking industry leading to her becoming Manager of the kitchen at Sollars elementary in Misawa Japan from 1990-1996. The family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1996 where Darlene, then working for AAFES, used her strength as an advocate for employee rights to become. the Committee Chair of the Local Union of AAFES at Luke AFB from 2000 -2007.
Darlene was a proud Washington Redskins fan!! In her spare time she enjoyed reading, especially science fiction, anything about dragons and was a Trekkie. She was an amazing Chef, known by people across the world for her food, especially her Macaroni and Cheese.
Darlene is survived by her daughters Charlene Williams and Adela Hernandez. Her grandchildren Darique, Lilly, Dominique, and Adriana. Her 4 siblings Beverly, Reginald, Angel and James. Beloved family Keisha, Rhonda, Clifton, Tennille and Nathaniel Mitchell, former husband Kevin Adams. And Friends across the World.
A memorial service for Darlene will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Greer-Wilson Chapel, 5921 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, .Arizona 85033. A cremation will occur.
