Darlene's love of animals was such a big part of her life. She would have saved them all if she could have! She went above and beyond to help the feral cats that somehow always found their way to her door.  
She was a special person and she will be missed by so many.  Our hearts go out to all of her kids and grandkids that she loved so dearly. You’re in our thoughts and prayers. 
In keeping her memory alive we have donated to the AZ Humane Society and Halo Cat Rescue in Phoenix.  I’m sure she’s taking care of all the animals in Heaven now.

My condolences My memory of Darlene were fond memories of childhood. She was our babysitter back in the day

I remember Grandma Darlene coming to visit us as kids. She always had such a soft tone to her voice and sounded like the sweetest person you've ever met. She was so beautiful and had the best smile. I used to love when she would hold me over her lap and rub my back with her fingernails. It would tickle so much but I just loved being held in her arms. It gave me lots of love and comfort. I would wiggle like a little worm. She would laugh and ask if I was okay. I would say yes Grandma I'm fine and try my hardest not to wiggle so she wouldn't stop. She will always be remembered in our hearts as our sweet Grandma Darlene.

I met Darlene at our neighborhood swimming pool in the summer of 1975, just before I started sixth grade. She and her husband had just moved into our community with their four children, and she brought her daughters, Brenda and Vickie, to the pool to take a break from settling into their new home. That day changed my life.
Brenda introduced herself, and we quickly discovered we were the same age and in the same grade. From that moment on, we became inseparable childhood best friends. Darlene became a second mother to me, just as my mom became a second mother to Brenda. Our families grew close, and her children—Dale, Danny, Brenda, and Vickie—became like brothers and sisters to me.
As we grew older, our lives became even more intertwined. In high school, Dale introduced me to his best friend, George, who became the love of my life. Over the years, our families have remained closely connected, sharing a lifetime of love and raising children who feel more like siblings than cousins.
Had Darlene not brought her daughters to that swimming pool on that summer day, this beautiful extended family we cherish today would never have existed.

Darlene & I met at work in 1995 and had remained friends throughout the yrs. We shared so many fond memories.  She was a great friend and will miss her so much. RIP, my friend your in  God's hands.
