

Dave, 72, long time resident of Phoenix, AZ passed away October 10, 2022, in Hospice of the Valley after a long battle with COPD. He was born June 27, 1950, to Miles and Lydia Bollinger (Lorenz) in Bismarck, ND, while residing in Fort Yates, North Dakota.
Dave attended Fort Yates Elementary School, Arkansas City, KS Junior High, and Oglala Community School, Pine Ridge, SD, Phoenix College, and Dickinson State College, Dickinson, ND.
Dave served in the US Navy as a Photographer Mate aboard the USS Ranger CV-61 aircraft carrier during the Vietnam Conflict.
Dave was talented ceramic artist, forming Ash Cooley Pottery with Bonnie Bruvold in Richardton, ND. Dave was a past President of the Arizona Clay Association and contributed annually to the Empty Bowl charity event.
Dave subsequently worked at Arizona Bronze Fine Art Foundry, Shidoni Art Foundry, and Bollinger Atelier as a skilled artisan, while continuing to produce his own artwork in ceramic and bronze.
He is survived by his significant other of 23 years, Cindy Johnson (Children: Dean and Colin), Mother Lydia Bollinger Sprague, and brothers Rob (Lisa: children: Brooks, Lauren, Hayley, and Mike) and Tom (Kimberly: children: Chequamegon). Children: Christopher Bollinger (Jenalee) Sean Bollinger, Elizabeth Bollinger (Sam). Grandchildren: Indika and Charlie (Christopher), Hayley, Cameron, Brody, and Jack (Sean), Olive (Liz). Along with many cousins and friends from childhood, college, and the art world.
Services will be private; a Celebration of Life event will be held in Arizona at a later date.
