I first met Dave when we both worked at DES. He was telling a co-worker a joke that made me laugh. She introduced me to to him and I thought what a great guy.
He originally worked in Fair Hearings. Dave then came to my office as a case reader. He eventually became my supervisor. During this time we discovered we both loved Baseball, Boxing, History, and I fell head over heals in love with him.
I became a supervisor in another office and I then moved in with him David Jr. and his granddaughter Ashley.
Dave got to know my daughters Alisa and Krista.
I also got to know his daughter Rachel and her girls.
Dave finally asked me to marry him in Albuquerque NM. We were married November 23rd 2007.
We enjoyed going to baseball games, being officials for USA Boxing and just talking about life in general.
He could always make me laugh. Dave was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and all around good friend.
Even though we had such a short time together it was a wonderful life together.
Babycakes I will miss you. Until we meet again I love you.
Always, your Mary Jane

My name is Elaine and I am Rachel Kessner's friend and coworker. I met Dave a few times when he went to stay at her home after being in the hospital. He was such a kind soul even when he was not feeling well. I would like to say thank you Dave for bringing this beautiful soul here Rachel must be very much like you she has your heart! I wish I would have known you better. Rest in paradise Mr Kessner!

Dave and I met in 1972 while working at Honeywell. We got to know each other during breaks at work. He was a Vietnam vet returning state-side; was enrolled in college, taking Political Science and Literature courses; and, he enjoyed hard rock music.
Who could resist a man like that!
We got married in 1974 and were together for 22 years. Rachel is his beautiful Daddy's Girl whom Dave adoringly called his Princess, Sweetie Pie, or Pumpkin. David Jr. is the spitting image of Dave - looks, sense of humor, intelligence...and charmer. We have three beautiful granddaughters: Lorraine has Dave's gentle ways and kindness of heart; Rebecca has his intelligence and quick sound judgment; Ashley is David Jr's daughter - a Kessner through and through, who has Dave's sense of humor, intelligence, and introspection.
We were blessed to have our time together. Dave's legacy lives on in his children and granddaughters.

Dave was a great co-worker at DES, always upbeat and could carry alot of stress without showing weariness. He shared his wonderful attitude to make the workplace the best it could be. He also was a great karate teacher when my son Jeremy was just a youngster, patience was Dave's virtue.
Our sympathies to Mary and the family from the Booher Family.
