
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debbie Hahn McNulty, age 69, who passed away on September 8th, 2023. Debbie was a cherished mother, devoted wife, and compassionate nurse who touched the lives of many. Debbie was born in Galena, IL. She graduated from Bradley College with a BSN and later made her home in the city of Chicago, where she embarked on a remarkable journey.
She married the love of her life, Jim McNulty, and together they raised a beautiful family of five children. She is survived by two sons, James (Devin) Maurice and Sean Robert, both of Chicago, and three grand children Riley George West, Maeve McNulty, and Quinn McNulty of Chicago; three daughters Carrie Ann Stowe of Texas, Kathryn Jean (Brian) Pond of Florida, and Ann Marie McNulty of Chicago; siblings Patrick Hahn, Diane (William) Laity, Robert (Doris) Hahn, Diane (Kevin) McFadden all of Galena IL; and her nephews Ryne (Tracy) Laity, Doug (Jen) Laity, Jimmy Hahn, Garrett Hahn, and Andy (Beth) McFadden; her nieces Ava Hahn, Kaylen (Blake) Cory of Verona Wisconsin, and Abbie McFadden of Galena IL; her grand nieces Aubrey Whitney Laity, Jayden Downs, Kam Downs, and Clayton Downs of IL; and by many loving extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents Maurie and Joyce Hahn, her brother James Hahn of Galena IL and her beloved husband James McNulty of Chicago IL.
For years, she dedicated herself to caring for those in need, offering comfort and solace to countless patients. She began her career as an ER nurse at Rush Hospital in Chicago, IL and ended her career working as an RN on the Navajo reservation. Her commitment to her profession was a testament to her nurturing nature, and her impact on the healthcare community will be remembered and treasured.
Debbie McNulty's legacy lives on not only in the hearts of her family but in the countless lives she touched throughout her lifetime. Her kindness, selflessness, and dedication to those she loved and cared for will forever be remembered.
As we say our final goodbyes to Debbie, we take solace in the beautiful memories we shared and the love she showered upon us all. She may have left this earthly realm, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, a beacon of love and hope that will continue to guide us through life's journey.
Debbie McNulty will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family find comfort in the memories of a life well-lived and a love that will endure through the ages.
