

Dennis John Grzyb, Dad, Daddy, Papa, Denny, Big Dude, died August 24, 2017 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona of natural causes. Dennis was born on April 22, 1947 to Walter Joseph and Aileen Lora (Goodney) Grzyb, in Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts. His family moved to Arizona when he was a young boy. He married Ida Charlene Pinkerton on May 18, 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dennis is survived by his cherished wife Charlene, mother Aileen Grzyb, beloved children Brittany Noel Pinkerton, Dennis John Grzyb II (his wife Nicole), Breanne Marie Grzyb (her partner Douglas), and Michael Joseph Grzyb (his fiancé Tyler), adored grandchildren Cody Brezinski, and Shawn and Kira Grzyb, brothers Richard Joseph Grzyb (his wife Deborah), and Kevin Scott, his Aunt Claire Lahti, many nieces and nephews, several cousins, and many dearly spoiled family pets. All of whom loved this quiet, strong, giving, gentle man with a twinkle in his eye.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Joseph Grzyb, grandparents, and other family members.
Dennis was a graduate of South Mountain High School in Phoenix (class of 1965). The day after he graduated from high school, he joined the U. S. Navy and served as a machinist from 1965 to 1967. He loved working on the aircraft engines. When he was discharged, he went to work for the USPS in Phoenix, where his father was also employed, and studied at Phoenix College. Dennis dedicatedly worked for the USPS for 41 years. When he retired he had more time to spend time with his family, pursue his interest in trivia, music, doing crossword puzzles, hunting, camping, boating, fishing, cooking, attending car shows, traveling throughout Arizona, and watching his beloved Steelers.
Flowers in memory of Dennis may be sent to Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dennis will be held on:
