illness. Denni (as she was called) was born in Phoenix Arizona to Donald and Shirley Metzger.
She started attending Community College in her early twenties but was more interested in police
work. Denni worked for the police department as a dispatcher for 40 years and retired in 2018.
Following her retirement she worked at Valley Metro as a Communications Specialist. Denni’s
passion was rescuing Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and finding new homes for them for over 20
years. She had her own rescue for a time and continued with helping other rescues in the valley.
She has saved many Cavaliers over the years from abuse, euthanasia and just people who had to
give up their pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Shirley. She is survived by her sisters
Stephanie and Sharon. Her legacy was one of honesty, compassion and kindness to all who
loved and knew her.
