

Derek Roy Simenson, 32, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on January 1, 2022. Derek was born September 22, 1989 in Fargo, North Dakota. He moved to Arizona in 1990 with his parents and one sister. He resided in Peoria, Arizona where he attended and graduated from Peoria High School in 2008.
Derek worked several jobs early on but excelled as a Sales Representative in the telemarketing industry. His most recent job was for Amazon in the warehouse distribution business.
Derek has done and accomplished many amazing things beyond just an everyday job, such as wood working, putting together and riding BMX bikes. Derek enjoyed spending his free time becoming a Graf and tagging artist. He belonged to a tagging crew who were like a family to him. They called themselves “RDF”, which stood for Real Down Family. Derek's tag name was “Delux”.
Derek is survived by his parents, Rod and Denise Simenson, one sister, Stacey Simenson, one son, Braxton Simenson, and one niece, Janaya Dunbar. Derek leaves behind his fiance, Kristen Homeyer and her son, Dominick Machado. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and great friends.
Derek is preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Roy and Irene Simenson, and maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Darlyne Gibbon, and one uncle, Jerry Simenson.
A family celebration of Derek's life will be on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary. Family and friends can arrive early at 9:22 AM to visit prior to the service at 10 AM. Website - dignitymemorial.com.
