Jack always thought it quite fun that the day he was born, Charles Lindbergh took off in the Spirit of St. Louis for Paris, France. Jack was a World War II veteran who saw duty in Okinawa. While there, he survived a tsunami, constant attacks and bombings from our enemy and felt that by the grace of God that he was one of the lucky ones to go home. The atomic bomb took care of that. Upon his return to the states he completed his education and married his high school sweetheart and within five years became daddy to four children. Because of health problems, Jack and Jean moved their little family to Phoenix, Az. He was working with Addressograph - Multipgraph Corporation when he arrived in Phoenix. Jack's next position was next Director of Financial Responsibility for the AZ Department of Transportation. He enjoyed his time there and then he met Bill Goettle of Goettle Brothers AC. He became Bill's right hand man in the business and helped Bill rebuild the Zane Gray Cabin which sadly burned to the ground in the Rodeo/Chediski fire many years ago. Then one day, he found his calling. Jack became a private investigator and founded his own company TeleTruth Systems, Inc., a voice stress analysis program which was a type lie detection. He worked many years building up a successful business only to be shut down by Congress. He and his fellow private investigators were no longer allowed to do this type of investigation. So then he retired. Outside of work, he was actively involved with his churches, playing softball, bowling, golf and most importantly singing in the church choirs with his wife. They went to England and Europe performing with the Chancel Choir. Jack is survived by his daughter Becky Eggen (Mike), and sons Rod and Randy Hastings. His daughter Melissa Hastings sadly passed away 12 days before him.
