Dianne Lynne McChesney was born on September 12, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Grand Avenue Elementary School and Mae Bartlett Heard Elementary School which were walking distance from the family home. For high school, she attended West Phoenix High School, graduating in 1965. She got her Associate Degree from Phoenix College in 1967 and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Arizona State University in 1969. She did not pursue a career in teaching, but instead was hired by the State of Arizona, Department of Revenue and continued there until she retired.
Dianne attended the First Baptist Church of Phoenix since Kindergarten. She participated in the youth programs, including choir, and when she was old enough, she joined the adult Chancel Choir. She had a lovely, soprano voice and enjoyed using her gift to glorify God. After the First Baptist Church was purchased by Living Streams Church in 2007, she continued to worship there.
She lived with her parents, William J. McChesney and Mary A. McChesney. Her father passed away in October 1993. Her mother lived to be 100 years old, but during her last few years required more care. Dianne was her caregiver during that time.
Dianne passed away on Monday evening, March 20, 2023. She is survived by her sister, Sandra K. Richmond; her nephew, Jedidiah J. Richmond; her great nephew, Joel N. Richmond; and several cousins.
Dianne had a heart for helping people in need. She would make donations to the Living Streams Food Pantry, the Lighthouse Rescue Mission, St. Mary’s Food Bank and the Salvation Army.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you make a donation to your favorite charity or to one of those listed above.
