Donald Lue, 92, died April 12, 2018 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born August 28, 1925, in Kelso, WA to Ralph and Lilian Lue. His father was a lumberman in the Oregon forests and his mother was a homemaker. He was a member of the United States Navy and proudly served during World War II as a navigator on B-12 bombers. After retiring from military service, he began a career in the lumber industry in Oregon where he met his future wife Rosemary. They relocated to Phoenix, AZ from Medford, OR in 1962 where they settled down to raise their family.
Don was active with the Masonic lodge as well as the Shriner’s, with whom he participated in many events and activities to support both organizations. As an avid Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, and NASCAR fan which led to his favorite past times of watching them play or race on TV surrounded by his family. The only thing he had more passion for than these sporting events were his family whom he often spoke of with fondness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary in 1995 and is survived by his children; Debbie Bedient (Bob) of Goodyear, AZ, Deanna Lue of Sun City, AZ, and Dennis Lue (Michelle) of Thermopolis, WY. Grandchildren; Jennifer Welch (Ken) of Goodyear, AZ and Caleb Peppard-Lue of Mesa, AZ as well as his great-grandchildren; Marley and McKenna Welch of Goodyear, AZ. We will all miss him and remember how much he loved all of us.
Graveside Services at Phoenix Memorial Park will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made in his name to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals for Children.
