Phoenix. She was born in Orion, Illinois on July 19, 1925 and spent her
formative years living on the farms of Illinois and Iowa. Doris moved,
with her family, to Phoenix in 1945. She was married to, and is
survived by, her husband for over sixty-four years, Charles. To her
family, she was maid, chauffeur, laundrywoman, gardener, painter,
motivator, cleaner, master seamstress, homework helper and chef –
short order or banquet. To the neighborhood and friends of her
children, she was the cool Mom. She is survived by her children Linda,
Chuck, Susan and Mary (John) Curfman. All of her children earned
college degrees thanks to her insistence on attendance and perseverance.
She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Nicole, John and
Chase.
