Dorothy Clothier

Dottie graduated from Arizona State University with a master's degree in education. She worked as a third-grade teacher at the Flora Thew school in Tempe for 25 years. After two years of retirement, she returned to work as a file clerk in the district office and officially retired at the age of 90!

She was actively involved in gardening, hiking, rock collecting, and traveling.

She is survived by her daughter Eileen and son-in-law Bill Lawson of Payson, granddaughters Penny Cook (Bill), Mindy Finger (John), great-granddaughters Kayley Presas (Marcele), Cheyenne Cook, Jasmine Cook (Christian), and great-great granddaughters Paisley and Serenity.

Dottie is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Gladys Schulz, her beloved husband, Ronald Clothier, her sister Elaine Gherardi.

The family would like to thank Dr. Chava, Dr. Nandipati, the staff at the Groves Assisted Living and Stillwater Hospice, especially nurse Mindy.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Memory Mausoleum at Greenwood Cemetery, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00am.
