

Edgar Glenn Fix, 75, passed peacefully on August 16, 2021 at Sherman Home Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, AZ. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Joan, and sons Sean and Aaron. Glenn was born July 6, 1946 to Edgar Eugene and Nellie Trout Fix in Stewartstown, PA
Glenn is survived by his wife, Joan Vaught Fix, of Anthem AZ; son, Sean Fix and partner Denice Huggins of New Freedom, PA; son Aaron Fix and wife Danielle, of Eugene, OR; sister Nadine Flaharty of Stewartstown PA; sister Gail Horton and brother-in-law Jim of Crawfordsville, Indiana; brother Jesse Leroy of Shrewsbury, PA; brother Howard and sister-in-law, Sue of York, PA; brother Samuel Wayne and sister-in-law Betty of Glenrock, PA; brother Jay and wife Jacalyn of Cave Creek, AZ; sister Ruth Long and brother-in-law Michael of Stewartstown, PA; mother-in-law Jean Vaught of Stewartstown, PA; grandaughter, Leola Fix of Eugene, OR; sister-in-law Kathy Fix of York, PA; and sister-in-law Marcene Fix of Stewartstown, PA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Edgar Fix, brother Eugene Fix and brother Richard Fix.
Glenn graduated from Kennard-Dale High School in 1964, then earned an Associates degree in accounting from the Baltimore Institute. He married Joan Elaine Vaught in 1967 and they settled in a country home in the Stewartstown area where they raised their sons. He joined the U.S. Army infantry in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
In 1971 Glenn began working at Dalco Industries in York PA. There he served in various managerial positions, including manager of the Delta plant.
In 2004 Glenn and Joan moved to Arizona where Glenn entered the respiratory therapy program at Pima Medical Institute. He graduated in 2007 at the age of 60, then worked at Barrow Neurological Institute at St Joseph’s hospital as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. He found caring for patients meaningful and gratifying. He learned much from the experience feeling that what he received from his patients far exceeded what he gave.
Glenn spent much of his life in the Stewartstown area. He was a kind, caring person who cherished family, friends, community, and country. He was an active volunteer, recognized for his generosity and dedication to the well-being of others. He participated in local sports programs, coaching youth soccer and baseball, and umpiring. He was active in the Jaycees, VFW and American Legion.
Arrangements were handled by Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ. Inurnment was at the National Cemetery of Arizona. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayo Clinic or Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix AZ.
