

Edward Holloman, age 89, of Phoenix, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He was born on January 28, 1929 to the late Bert and Ida Mae (Storey) Holloman in West Frankfort, IL. Ed graduated from West Frankfort High School in 1946 and immediately enlisted into the United States Army, serving for over 21 years. He retired from the military in 1969 and moved to Phoenix, where he took a job with Motorola. Ed worked as a Field Engineer until his retirement in 1989. He then volunteered with the AARP tax program for 15 years. On May 8, 1954 Ed married Helen Marie Watkins in Marion, IL. He enjoyed working on his computer and HAM radio, traveling in their RV, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ed is survived by his loving spouse of 63 years, Helen; three children, Janelle (Tom) Liffiton, Renee (Michael) Bojorquez, and Edward (Lynne) Holloman, Jr.; two siblings; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by nine siblings. Visitation will be from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday, February 26, 2018 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022. Committal Service with Military Honors will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed’s honor may be made the Hospice of the Valley.
