Eleanor Sirois passed away in her home July 30th ,2020 at age 75 due to complications of COVID 19. She was surrounded by her children Richie Sirois, Suzette Savage and son in law Andy Savage, and beloved dog Buddy.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents Giuseppe “Joseph” Rullo and Agatha Ida Rullo(Liggera), brother John Rullo and spouse of 491/2 years Richard ”Dick” Sirois.
Eleanor was raised in Queens NY, attended St Joan of Arc Catholic school and graduated from Bryant High School.
Eleanor met the love of her life Richard “Dick” at Cardinal Spellman’s Serviceman Club where she volunteered, and they were married in 1966. In 1975 they moved to Phx. Az. With their 2 children where they quickly established lifelong friendships, these friends becoming family.
Eleanor was a social butterfly and was involved in many organizations. She was PTA president at Village Meadows School, involved with the Republican Womans Club, was a founding member of St. Lukes Catholic Church, Board member on the Mental Health Guild, a member of the Phoenix Theater Guild. Eleanor co-chaired the Burt Convey Celebrity tennis Tournament which raised a significant amount of money for Spina Bifida. These organizations and charitable events brought her much purpose and joy.
Eleanor graduated as an adult from Glendale community college. She worked for and retired from Maricopa County Human Resource Department, taking with her lasting friendships and cherished memories. Eleanor was involved in the same Bunco group for 40+ years and enjoyed it so much she even later joined 3 more.
Eleanor leaves a mark on this world with her smile. She was loved by all who knew her. The world is less bright without her!! She is deeply missed. Eleanor taught us many things except how to live without her.
