

Eleanor, age 88, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020. She was born
in Pittsburgh, PA on August 25, 1932 to her father, Chong Fong and her
mother, Shee Wong. Eleanor was the fifth of six children.
As a teenager, Eleanor helped her parents in the family laundry
business in Pittsburgh, PA. When she attended a Church Conference on
the east coast, Eleanor met her future husband, Kwong C. (K.C.) Tang,
while he was serving in the Air Force and stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. They were
married on October 2, 1955 and settled in Phoenix, AZ for over 60 years. Eleanor was a loving
wife to K.C. before his passing on February 2, 2017 and was a wonderful mother and grandmother to daughter, Patti; sons, Ted (Suzanne, children: Matthew and Joy), Tom and Steve.
In addition to raising her family, she also worked alongside K.C. at the family grocery business.
During her retirement she enjoyed using the computer, solving word puzzles, browsing the
Internet, watching her favorite TV shows and cheering on the Phoenix Suns. Eleanor loved to
prepare delicious meals and scrumptious desserts when the family got together. She always
looked forward to traveling to see her kids and grandkids.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Kwong C. (K.C.) Tang, her
parents and her siblings/spouses: brothers, We Eng, Jake (Betts) and Sam Fong; sisters, Dorothy
(Ernest) Choy, and Doris (Ken) Izumi.
We will miss her quiet, gentle soul and friendly smile. Mom, we love you and will miss you.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, a private service celebrating her life will be held at Greenwood
Memory Lawn Cemetery. Eleanor will be laid to rest next to her husband, Kwong C. (K.C.) Tang at
Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.
