My Grandfather was the most loving and kindhearted man I’ve ever known. I have a lifetime full of wonderful memories thanks to him. He always made himself available to me when things were tough, and he was right alongside me to celebrate my achievements. My brother and I grew up in his home, we always felt safe and secure because he always showed us how much he cared.

I could write a book full of all the great experiences I’ve had with him over my last 34 years. I know that I’ll carry those memories and feel his love for the rest of my life. My children and I are blessed to have had him in our lives. Alex, Nick, Ari, Isaiah and Caleb all love and miss you Grandpa.

A devoted family man and husband until the end. One of the last things my grandfather had said when he was in the hospital was, “I have to get back home to take care of my wife.”

Grandpa always put the needs of his loved ones before his own.

Don’t worry Grandpa we’ll all take care of Nana for you, thank you for everything, we love you so much.

Love,
Israel and Tiffany

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO ERNIE'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
IT WAS A GREAT ENJOYMENT WORKING WITH ERNIE FOR MANY YEARS, GOING TO LUNCH AND MANY OTHER OUTINGS WITH THE "APS" GROUP.
ERNIE AND I ALWAYS REMINISCED ON THE HOOD AND FRIENDS WE KNEW AND GREW UP WITH.

HE WILL BE MISSED.
GOD BLESS ALL.

Ernie was a friend to all. We used to car pool when he was in Metro Eng. When I moved to the Liaison Dept. he was quick to show me the ropes. He trained many of the Estmators in Metro Eng. He was a great guy and a friend to many. Thanks Ernie for everything you did for me.

I am sorry for all of us that knew Ernie. He will be missed even if we did not see him often it is sad to think that he has left us, but we know that he is in a much better place sharing his encouragement and stories. I agree with Richard Diaz and share all of those same memories with him. Ernie was one of the kindest and most generous men that I have ever known. I will always have a warm space in my heart for him and look forward to being with him again. God bless him, his family and friends.

Fondly, George del Castillo

P.S. My best to Richard and Manny

Had the pleasure of working with Ernie for many years at APS, always enjoyed our conversations and lunches together. He would strike up a conversation with anyone, and was a master of his use of the Spanish language. his stories of his olden days would always keep us in stitches.
I would always think of him on his birthday and give him a call, he would always ask about everyone we used to work with. I feel badly that this was the first time I missed our call. I will pray for you, and your family.
