Eugene Chavez passed away in Phoenix, Arizona on January 12, 2021. Eugene was born on February 23, 1946 in Gallup, New Mexico to Arturo and Gregoria (Parra) Chavez. After graduating high school, he met and married Irene Chavez, a marriage that lasted 56 years. Eugene held a job at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum for 47 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. But what Eugene loved most was music, dancing, making people laugh, and being with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Arturo and Gregoria Chavez, his sisters Helen Chavez, Eleanor Rodriguez and Dolores Reyes, as well as his brothers Jesse and Manuel Chavez. Survived by; Wife Irene Chavez, 7 Children Theresa & Albert Aguilar (Husband), Eugene Chavez, Rebecca Cruz, Angela Chavez, Christopher & Isabel Chavez (Wife), Michelle Chavez, Gabriel Chavez, 17 Grand Children, 16 Great Grand Children, 2 Brothers Arturo Chavez and Robert Chavez, Several Nieces, Nephews, and Family Friends whom to him were Family. Eugene’s Memorial Service will be held January 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Greer-Wilson Chapel - 5921 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85033.
