I lived on the same block as Eugene in Queens Village. I was a lot younger than he was. He was someone I looked up to, always had a smile and never a bad thing to say. One memory was him sitting in his van with a big smile smoking a cigarette. To the Rogers family I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

I have nothing but the best of memories with Eugene. We attended Our Lady of Lourdes together, often in the same class. We played stickball and basketball. We often walked to Martin Van Buren HS, busting each other’s chops along the way. I called him Jew Jean, due to his absence on Jewish Holiday’s. He called me Farts Domino (for obvious reasons). We skitched on cars, we rode bicycles and played football for the Long Island Tomahawks. He let me into the Dublin Pub without a cover and he was an usher at my first wedding.

Except for perhaps two or three phone calls I lost touch with him after he moved to Phoenix. RIP good friend.

My deepest condolences to your family. Wishing you peace and comfort as your remember Gene and hold his memories forever in your hearts.

Eugene, I hope you are fishing with your dad, playing cards with your grandmother, riding around on a Harley, and cruisin' to the oldies.
You were a light in my life and I will love you forever. ...Until we meet again, rest in peace my friend.
