Evelyn was very civic minded volunteering in numerous organizations. She served terms on multiple boards such as Phi Kapa Nau, Isaac School District, Maryvale Planning Committee and Flower Street Block Watch. She also volunteered for fundraisers such as Jerry Lee Lewis telethon, Special Olympics, and the VA just to name a few.
Evelyn was extremely passionate about helping children. One of her proudest moments was being an instrumental part in getting the Pedestrian Bridge between 34th & 35th Avenue for the Isaac Middle School and it’s Children completely funded and built. This made the walk to school so much safer for the children and will continue to do so long after Evelyn’s passing.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her 2nd husband Marvin Shapiro and her daughter Nona Deuschle. She leaves behind her two sisters JoAnn and Lois, her brother Roy, her son Ken Beach, her granddaughter Serena and her two great-grandsons Graycen and Hunter.
A visitation for Evelyn will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, funeral service from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM followed by a committal service from 2:30 PM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009
