Evelyn Louise Stewart, age 94, peacefully returned to her maker on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Evelyn was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on October 11, 1930. Came to Arizona in 1942 for health reasons in family. She loved Phoenix and wouldn’t live anywhere else.
Evelyn retired from the telephone company after 38 years as a long-distance operator. She loved to read, draw, color, go to Thrift stores, Casinos and play bingo with her friends. I hope they have all that in heaven.
A funeral service for Evelyn will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery, 2300 W Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
