January 17, 1940 – August 24, 2025
Frank Eugene Dishon, Sr., 85, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born on January 17, 1940, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Charles Woodrow Dishon and Alpha Ida (Ricketts) Dishon, the third of four children.
Frank grew up in Sugar Grove, Ohio, where he attended elementary school and graduated from high school. In 1963, he married his first wife, Hazel (France) Dishon, and together they had two sons, Todd and Frank, Jr. The family relocated to Arizona in 1972 for better weather and new job opportunities.
When they first arrived, Frank worked for Fry’s Foods for about three years while attending night school, where he trained to become a dental technician. He went on to work for two doctors in the Valley for more than 15 years until his retirement.
In 1995, Frank met his second wife, Caroln (O’Brian) Dishon, and they shared a loving life together until her passing in 2020. Frank was a God-fearing man who always put his family before others. He attended church regularly with his wife and then by himself after her passing. In June of 2025, he was baptized as a Lutheran.
Frank loved the outdoors, especially forest camping in his trailer, and had an old-fashioned charm that endeared him to all who knew him. He was an avid sports fan, particularly devoted to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Known for his kindness and frugality, Frank cherished keeping in touch with family.
He is survived by his sons, Todd Dishon and Frank Dishon, Jr. (with Velvet); his grandchildren, Matthew and Jordan (with Gabriela), Khristopher Mabbitt, and Danielle (with Dylan) Touvell; his daughter-in-law Ashley; his siblings, Charles, Marlene, and Howard; and his great-grandchildren, Emerson and Jacqueline.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Woodrow and Alpha Ida Dishon, and his second wife, Carol.
Frank will return to Shawnee, Ohio, to be laid to rest alongside his parents.
