Franklin Henry Fields, age 86, of Vail, Arizona passed peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Born January 1, 1937 in Phoenix, Arizona, he was the youngest of three children by Harold Vesta Fields Sr. and Geneva Alberta Fields.
Known as Frank, he was proud to share that he was the first baby born in 1937 in Phoenix. He spent his whole life in Arizona, in both Phoenix and Vail. First and foremost, Frank was a family man; nothing was of higher importance to him. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, cheering for any/all Arizona teams, which is something his son carries forward to this day. Additionally, Frank was proud of the time he served in the United States Navy Reserve.
Professionally, Frank hired on with Garret AiResearch in 1956, which merged into Allied Signal in 1985 (and later became Honeywell after the acquisition in 1999). He retired in 1995 after nearly 40 years of hard work and dedication.
Frank is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years, Joyce; their son, Jeffrey (Krista) Fields of Vail, Arizona; granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth; grandsons, Sean Kennedy and Colin Jeffrey; and brother Harold “Bud” Vesta Fields Jr. of Fountain Hills, Arizona.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15 at 9:30 AM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave, Phoenix, Arizona, 85009 followed by his memorial service at 10:30 AM. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/?form=alz_donate. Please notify the family, as you're able, if you do so.
