Franklin Curtis Forsberg was born on December 9, 1944, to Carl Elmer and Charlotte Louisa Forsberg in New York, New York. He was raised in Great Neck alongside his brother, Carl, by loving parents. After graduating from Great Neck High School, Frank attended Brown University, where he played soccer and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. During a winter break at home, he met Diana Smith, and it was love at first sight. Three weeks later, they were engaged. Frank and Diana were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on September 9, 1967. Together, they raised 6 children and were blessed with 26 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Frank earned his Master’s degree in Business from Columbia. Shortly after graduating, he and Diana welcomed their first child, Amy, followed by Keith. Before embarking on a career in accounting, Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force. His service ultimately took his young family to Korea, where he completed his final tour. Following his service, they returned to Diana’s hometown of Phoenix, where Frank began his career at Arthur Andersen and passed his Certified Public Accounting exam. It was during this time they welcomed their third child, Wendy.
After eleven years at Arthur Andersen, Frank took a leap and started his own local accounting practice, which later merged into Tull, Forsberg & Olson PLC. As their family grew with the additions of Russell, Jessica, and Spencer, so did Frank’s reputation as a trusted and knowledgeable tax advisor.
For over 50 years, Frank provided expert tax planning and strategy, serving a diverse clientele with skill and integrity. But beyond his expertise, he valued relationships, often turning clients into lifelong friends. His unwavering dedication to his work and providing excellence to his clients left a lasting impact.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Frank served in numerous capacities, with his most recent roles being patriarch and temple sealer. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others and found great joy in working with youth and young single adults. His steadfast faith and heartfelt devotion to those he served made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Frank was an avid sports fan, whether he was playing early morning basketball, going to a Suns or Diamondbacks game, or cheering on his kids and grandkids from the sidelines. If he wasn’t at a game in person, he was likely in his favorite recliner, watching one on TV.
Above all, Frank found his greatest joy in being a husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed supporting his kids and grandchildren in their endeavors, always their biggest fan. Known for his love of sports, his sharp mind for numbers, and his quiet yet quick wit, Frank had a way of making those around him feel valued. His love for people and the joy he found in family will forever be his greatest legacy. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother and his wife. He is survived by his 6 children, Amy, Keith(Stephanie), Wendy(Steve), Russ(Katie), Jess (Jeff), Spencer(Marlee), 26 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Frank will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8602 N. 31st Ave., Phoenix, Arizona 85051 on Friday evening, February 14, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday morning, February 15, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM with the funeral service to follow.
