Frederick Herman Kleespies, was born July 22, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to German immigrant Karl Joseph Kleespies and Austrian immigrant Rosina Ernst Kleespies. He spent his childhood in Goshen, Ohio before enlisting in the Air Force. He served as a Dentist Assistant, Airman First Class in Europe from 1952-1956 and was honorably discharged.
He married Ruth Frances Phillipson on December 20, 1960 and they had three children; Leslie Karl (Tina) Kleespies of Grand Junction, CO, Kurt Edward Kleespies (Bob Wheeler) of San Francisco, CA and Kristia Kay (David) Menlove of Cloverdale, CA. Fred and Ruth resided in Caseyville, Illinois and Ballwin, Missouri where Fred worked for Labadie power plant until he retired and moved to Glendale, Arizona in 1989.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Frances Kleespies, his brothers, Phillip Kleespies and Ernie Kleespies, and sister Marie Switzer. He is survived by one sister, Anna Bach, his children and five grandchildren.
Interment will take place at the National Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ.
