Gabriel Xavier Coronado, a munitions controller for the 944th Maintenance Squadron at Luke AFB and was well-loved and respected by many. He was known by some as “Captain America”, and known to others as “Dimples”. Gabriel was a native to Phoenix, Arizona, where he grew up and lived his adult life. Gabriel passed away unexpectedly on September 24th, 2022 at the age of 27.
Gabriel was born June 3rd, 1995 and was the baby of the family. Gabriel was a remarkable and beloved brother, son, uncle, friend, and fiancé who deeply touched all of the lives of those around him. Anyone who met Gabe instantly gravitated towards his genuine and kind personality. Gabe was fearless when it came to trying new things and he was a natural at everything he tried! Whether it was picking up a sports ball of any kind or a board game, he was always coming in hot! Gabe truly lived life to the fullest and enjoyed everything life threw at him.
Gabriel had many hobbies including kayaking with his fiancée, Justine, cycling, hiking, traveling, and you would always catch him enjoying stand-up comedy shows. Gabe loved to be active, but he was always content lying low and hanging out with his family. You would hardly ever catch Gabe without a smile that lit up any room or a giggle that was not contagious. Gabe was a peace-keeper, always staying neutral and always lending a helping hand whenever it was needed. He was always there whenever someone needed him, and was always the first one to show up for everyone.
Gabe is survived by his fiancée, Justine Cardenas, his mother and father, Connie and Mark Coronado, his brothers: Alex Coronado and Mark Coronado Jr., his sister Vanessa Groft, and his many nieces and nephews: Lucy, Morrissey, Jude, and Ezra Groft, Kingston Coronado, Noah Jackson, and Madeleine Coronado. Gabe is also survived by his 2 dogs: Topher and Ozzy, whom he loved and treated as if they were his own children.
Gabriel will be and is already sorely missed by everyone who knew him. He was deeply loved by everyone in his life.
As you can imagine, Gabriel’s family is absolutely devastated by the loss of him. The magnitude of this loss has been something indescribable. The family was not prepared for the high costs of his funeral, and they want to give him the burial/memorial that he deserves; to honor his memory and say their final goodbye’s. Gabe’s family is asking for donations to help cover the unexpected costs of the funeral and to support Gabe’s fiancée, Justine, and his family throughout this time. No donation is too small. It would mean the world to the entire family to donate and share Gabe’s fundraiser link with others who knew him.
With Love,
Gabe's family and friends
