Gary L White

Gary Linn White died on October 19, 2018. He was born on July 5, 1947 in Warren, OH to Wayne and Naomi White. He had an older sister, Karen, and then a younger brother, Bruce. The family of 5 moved to Arizona when Gary was 2 years old and he has lived here ever since.

He met Margie Amator in the summer of 1965 and they were married in May 1967. Gary and Margie were blessed with four children - Amber, April, JJ and Chris. They raised their family in Avondale, AZ.

His children married and his family grew. Amber married Steve Boyd and they have 3 children - Allyssa, Steven & Allexandrea. April married Sean Scibienski and they have 2 sons - Henry & Oliver. JJ married Robbie Schacher and they have 2 daughters - Cora & Jessica. Chris married Jennifer Stober.

Gary was an Army veteran who served 3 years during the Vietnam War. He returned home to start work at Arizona Public Service (APS) as a truck driver & then was offered the opportunity of an apprenticeship to become a lineman. He had a long and decorated career of 30+ years with APS retiring as a district manager. After a couple of years retirement Gary went back to work as a consultant for Duncan & Son Trucking. He worked with them for several years before retiring once again.

Gary was an active volunteer throughout his life as a Coach for Softball and Soccer, 4H Leader, FFA Supporter, Sports Parent Booster, Chamber of Commerce President and Lions Club District Governor.

Gary loved to cook and bake. When he married Margie he gained a large extended family. Every holiday, birthday or special event was celebrated with fabulous dishes and desserts that he made to share with them. He loved to host Sunday family dinners at their home. Gary also loved to camp, hunt & fish in Northern Arizona. Many great memories were made during these trips.

Gary was predeceased by his parents Wayne & Naomi, and his brother Bruce. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Margie, his children, grandchildren and his sister Karen Sanders.

Gary had a great sense of humor and loved a good party. He loved his family and he was loved in return.

Services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary and Cemetery; with Visitation at 10:00 am, Funeral Service at 11:00 am, and the burial to follow immediately after.
