George attended Westview High School, where he played football and developed a strong sense of focus and determination. Even in his school years, he was committed to pursuing a career in nursing. He furthered his education at Estrella Mountain Community College and Phoenix College, earning his bachelor’s degree in nursing.
George dedicated his life to helping others. He worked in the nursing and behavioral health fields and also served in a group home for children under the age of 15, guiding and supporting them with compassion and understanding.
Known for his huge personality, George was a big man with an even bigger heart. Charismatic, nonjudgmental, and always a jokester, he had a unique ability to lift the spirits of those around him. People were naturally drawn to his warmth, honesty, and generosity. He loved riding his motorcycle, collecting guns, and had a special fondness for babies. George believed in working hard and playing hard, with grilling, Christmas, and Thanksgiving being some of his favorite ways to bring family and friends together.
During his life, George married Chelsie, the mother of four of his children, and together they built a family filled with love and memories.
George is survived by his beloved children: twins Savannah and Serena, Joseph, Nylah, Lucas, Angelina, Timothy and Raymond; his grandson, Rome Evans; his mother, Debbie Mendoza; his stepfather, James, whom he lovingly called Dad; his sister, Candice, and her husband, Joel Sanchez; his lovely grandmother Sylvia Spain; and his aunt, Kathy Martinez. He also leaves behind the Mendoza family—Cassandra, James; his best friend Randy Warner; his dear friend Eddie; the Almarez Family; and his cousins, Arsheen and Arjana Al-Manei.
George’s legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
