At his request, no service will be held. He will be laid to rest in LaGrange, Texas next to his daughter, Emma Rose.
Mr Wheat was born May 24, 1937, in Dallas, Texas to RV and Donnie Van Wheat. He was practical man of many talents which he expressed through his varied career choices. Welder, handyman, machinist and cafe owner are among his vocations but he was most proud of his military service in the US Marine Corps. It was during his military service that he found his greatest joy in meeting his future wife of 63 years.
He used his favorite pastime, reading, to support his lifelong interest in learning. He was also an avid wood craftsman of pragmatic yet beautiful utility.
George is survived by his wife, Judith and four sons: Michael, Walter and spouse Sherry, Arthur, George and spouse Frank. He will also be fondly remembered by four grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his daughter, Emma Rose.
