Gerald “BoBoy” Vincent Santos Castro Jr. was born on June 21, 1995, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Gerald Joseph Santos and Eileen Jean Castro. He was the youngest of two children and was deeply loved by his family, especially his older sister, Antoinette.
BoBoy came from a blended and loving family. He had two father figures in his life—Patrick Martinez in Phoenix and his biological father in Sacramento—and he loved both deeply, never separating one from the other in his heart. He was also one of four siblings, including Antoinette, Patrick Jr., Naomii, and Hope.
He spent much of his early life in Phoenix with his mother, where he played football and proudly wore jersey number 55. His journey into football began with the encouragement of his mother, who also helped raise funds through community efforts such as selling hot dogs, candy bars, and more so he could participate. At first, BoBoy was hesitant about football, especially the demanding workouts, but he soon grew into the sport. He became a strong athlete, lost weight, built discipline, and even earned a trophy with his picture on it—an achievement he was very proud of.
BoBoy loved sports, especially football and basketball, and enjoyed spending time playing with his cousins. He treasured family gatherings, holidays, and birthdays, always happiest when surrounded by loved ones and sharing meals together. He was known for being observant, protective, and deeply aware of his surroundings, always looking out for those around him. He shared close bonds with his cousins—Wade and Dylan in Arizona. Who were like brothers to him throughout his life. They were always together during every family function and even went on hikes together.
BoBoy, also attended Franklin High School in Sacramento, California. Where he was also raised with strong values of hard work, responsibility, and independence. Those lessons stayed with him throughout his life.
Also, he shared close bonds with his cousins—Raymond, Mannie, and Terrell in Sacramento—who were like brothers to him throughout his life. They were always together during family functions and even made dance/rap videos together.
BoBoy, worked alongside his stepfather in landscaping, where he learned skills such as laying grass, edging yards, and planting flowers. He took pride in his work and often added creative designs to lawns. He also learned mechanics from his father.
Later in life, BoBoy relocated to Spokane, Washington, where he focused on rebuilding and growth. During this time, he learned forklift operation and secured better employment, continuing to strengthen his skills and independence. He also developed a personal love for cowboy boots during this time, while still staying true to his everyday style. He worked hard for the things he wanted and proudly purchased himself.
BoBoy passed away on March 29, 2026, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 30.
