Dear Mommy, 
 On Thursday Dec. 19th, 2013 I knelt by your side and held your hand, as Our Savior began to beckon you into His loving arms. So quietly and peacefully, you took your last breath  as I felt the heavy weight of your suffering lift. The heavens opened up as wide as can be and "the Heaven" we all long for, received another very precious saint.
 I bet daddy reached out his hand, as he saw you come,and smiling that warm & beautiful smile, invited you to your "first" dance in heaven, (maybe the tarantella?) :-)
  Each entry honoring your memory, here, is so comforting and so true. I thank all of our loving relatives & friends for their much cherished, and comforting words. I will keep them close to my heart always & forever.
   I will wear your apron, "mumsie, and continue the labors of love, as you and dad passed down the torch of joyful service to our family. Thank you!
   Enjoy yourself in the unimaginable eternity that we who are left, only  for awhile, so yearn for. We promise to laugh and enjoy the wonderful memories and legacy you gave your family. When we worship Our Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit, we will feel close to you, as that's what you are doing now, along with the saints and angels in heaven.

my dearest Aunt Gerty. I know you are now happy to be with Uncle andy, the love of your life.   I am sad though to think that your passing brings the End of An Era.  Our Family, so wonderful, we had it all, love  dancing laughing .  I will never forget your care and concern for my Vanessa. She so wanted to give you her Ceramic Bell and you graciously accepted it. And i know you contiued to ring that little bell in her honor.  I want to thank Barbara and Angelo for putting in some pics of me and Vanessa and other occasions we shared. I am honored to  be a part of your Album. A Lady always, gracious and understanding and loyal.  Oh! you and Uncle Andy, a Great Match, And really at the end of one's life, beyond all the accolades, what matters is the core of ones soul. Dear Grandma,  I will always remember Uncle Angelo and Dad teasing you and your giggle (of course we have Auntie Barbara to keep up with that tradition).  Your inspiration of marriage with my beautiful Grandpa and of course, your fried eggplant. 
May you be with your beloved husband.
We will miss you here but your wonderful spirit will be with us always.

I will always remember Aunt Gertie standing in her kitchen, wearing a dress and apron. How I loved to sit on the step stool eating marshmallow cookies while she hung out the laundry. I am so glad in these later years I asked her about what it was like growing up and meeting Uncle Andy and little Frank. She shared many stories with me, her memory was remarkable. I came to know her in a different way and admired her kindness and gentle spirit. I love you Aunt Gertie.

Dear Barbara, Frank.....Aunt Gertie was so special to me. I will especially miss our little telephone conversations.... talking politics, hearing her little giggle as she told me stories about growing up with my Dad....she will be missed. You were really blessed to have her for so long.
