Gilbert Angel Gortarez, age 38, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on May 20, 2019. Gilbert was born in Phoenix, Arizona on February 15, 1981. He loved music, writing and cooking. Angel was a Christian and was involved in Faith Walking Ministry’s. He is survived by his loving wife, Sonia M. Gortarez; three children, Gilbert Angel Gortarez Jr., Penelope Angel-Lalita Gortarez, and Destinii Angel Gortarez; six step- children, Cecilia, Mia, Serina, Manuel, Daniel and Serjio. Angel is also survived by his parents, Nellie G. Hull and Larry Hull; grandmother, Esther Garcia; siblings, Esther Martinez, Manuel Aguilar, Leticia Fernandez and Alfred Fernandez; sister-in-law, Virginia Aguilar; step-sisters, Michele Defaria and Jenna Hull; nephews, Raymond Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Xavier Martinez, Robert Aguilar and Manuel Aguilar; nieces; Anysia, Alissa and Angelique Aguilar, as well as numerous friends and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at Advantage Funeral and Cremation, 6901 W Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85033 on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00am followed by a visitation from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
