57, our loving Son, Brother and Uncle entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2015. Born September 16, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona, after working many years with Bashas, he became a certified Caretaker for his mother, a job which he loved. Gilbert enjoyed sports, especially football as well as cooking and spending time with his family. He was loved by all his nieces and nephews and the rest of his family and friends. Gilbert was preceded in death by his father Ernest Leyva, two older Brothers Alfred and Edward Leyva. Survivors include his Mother Belia Leyva; Brothers Rudy Leyva, Ruben Leyva; Sisters Rosie Leyva and Sylvia Leyva; and several nieces and nephews all of Phoenix. A Funeral Service will be held 9:30am, Saturday, June 27, 2015 in the Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 North 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Relatives and friends are welcome to join us at the Visitation and Gathering which will begin at 9:00am.
