May you rest in peace with the Lord and Robin by your side

Glen, your heart and your spirit were encouraging to me. I loved working with you in Grace Place. And I agree with Bobby Warren...You had comic genius. Your heart for the children was more than noticeable, it was unmistakable. I will miss you until we embrace again.

Glen was one of the first men that I met at Open Door Fellowship. I was really struggling at that time and Glen accepted me just as I was. The only string attached was an assurance of belonging and that Glen would not run away from me. His questions were always honest and within them I could see that this was trustworthy man in whom I could confide. What a great gift you were to me Glen. I miss you and can't wait to be with you again.

Glen,You are so missed.I know God had a place in heaven waiting for you.In my heart I wish it could have been later ,rather than sooner.We fought a good fight.And i would do it all over again- just to have you back.They say God takes the best.And you were the best husband,father and someone who loved God with all your heart.Love you and miss you.Your loving wife. Glen, I miss you. I should have came around more often. There was no excuse, really, I lived 14 houses down. (Kelli and I counted!) I'm glad you are not suffering any longer. I am glad you are in the place that you have forever wanted to be. However, I wish you were still here, and healthy :( I love you so much, and I will always remember Utah when you ran over my toe when I was trying to get into the car :P I laugh every time I think about it. Not about how much it hurt but how the whole way back up the mountain you kept making sure you didn't need to take me to the Emergency Room. Haha, wow. I'll miss you so much, but you're forever respected,loved, and missed!

Dear Family, I worked with Glen in Grace Place for years. His desire to teach children about Jesus, his comic genius, and dedication to always be there,have helped to set a generation in motion for the Kingdom. He was willing to help navigate the social system when we wanted to figure out how help someone in need. Laurie, you and Paul and Kelly loved him well, and took great care of him, for I saw it. I love how his sisters came and cared for him. Glen lacked in nothing care-wise. I'll cherish remembering Olive being there also. Take care of yourselves, taking time to remember and grieve well. We will miss Glen and I'm waiting to see him again!

He is with our Father in Heaven...safe in His loving arms...no more pain...My prayers are with you and the sorrow in your heart at this time...Remember that you have not lost Glen ...we all know exactly where he is and can rejoice in that truth.

We feel fortunate to have recently shared a lunch with you and Glen. It was a pleasure to have worked with Glen at DDD and we have always respected and admired his tenacity and hard work. You and Glen remained brave and positive throughout your challenges over the past few years; a good example for us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Glen, 
Always carried a great smile and kept people laughing when I worked with him at Division of Developemental Disabilities for a short while. He will be greatly missed. May God Bless him and your family in this time of sorrow.

Laurie, Kelli, Paul and extended McCurley family,

Bill and I had the good pleasure to meet Glen during his final months.  Although we did not get to know him well, we’ll never forget the air of confidence that Glen displayed as he walked into the room during the first infusion appointment we shared together.  There was something distinctive about Glen that set him apart from other patients that day and it was to be envied.  On many occasions since then, in spite of his declining health, his sweet spirit stood out.

Having met many in your extended family in recent weeks at your home, we now know more about the Glen you know and loved and we love him too.

May the Lord richly bless your family and surround you in peace as you all adjust to living life without Glen. It can’t be easy but God knows your sorrow more than any other. He will carry you through this transition until blessed memories of your lives together shine through your grief.

You were angels sent from Heaven for Glen at a time he started facing his battle for his life. We've known Glen for about 15 years and watched him mature and and see his joy in helping other people -- especially troubled youth. He was always there when my mother needed help with my dad during his illness and I'll always be grateful to him for his help. When our son got married in 2009, he asked Glen to officiate at their ceremony in Colorado.  He did such a wonderful job on our son's big day and he said that he truly enjoyed the experience. Your love and devotion to Glen was inspiring and surely helped him through his new and daily challenges. Now Glen is your angel watching over you.

While a student here at Phoenix Seminary, Glen was a consistent model of integrity and godly grace. But once he was diagnosed, rather than become a "sick person" who embraced defeat or discouragement, he blossomed even more into a model of faith during adversity. His optimism and heart have inspired all who know him here at PS. We are so proud to call him our brother and friend. And we are so grateful to Our Lord for his new home in glory.

I haven't yet grasped the reality that Glen is not here with us.  Kim and I remember when he came to ODF.  Kim and I were in a wounded place at that time, and Glen didn't have a history with us.  He was a safe place, and a friend.  He was also a fellow Okie to Kim.  Enough said.  I remember when he and Robin married, they requested people give to Neighborhood Ministries in their name.  It was then I knew that Glen had a real heart for God and for the wounded.  My heart goes to Laurie at this time.  I am filled with gratitude that she took Glen's gentle spirit into her heart and cared for him during his illness.  We are praying for peace and protection during your grief.  May you be surrounded by love and care, as you will now become the cared-for and not the care-giver. Please be gentle with yourself.  You have provided the ultimate ministry.  You have loved mightily.  We have never met, but I'm praying for you.

Stacie and I feel blessed that we got to meet and know Glen during our time at NM Tech.  Glen was always more focused on his friends than on his studies, which ultimately turned out to be one of his gifts.  Glen was one of those few people that genuinely cared about his fellow man.  This led him to different roles were he was able to help people.  I know he worked as a camp counselor helping young people become healthy adults.  We noticed as Glen mature he developed a strong connection with God.  This really seemed to help him become more grounded, confident, and happier.   Glen developed into a very special person that made the world a better placed.  Without him, the world is not quite as bright.  We will miss him dearly.

Laurie and Family,

I am so sorry for your loss.  You and Glen have been in our prayers for many months now, and will continue to be so.  May some small portion of the infinite grace and peace that now washes over Glen be given to you also.

Glen always sat in the row in front of Tom and I at ODF church on Sunday. This was after Robin passed away. We did not get to know he or Laura very well but we will greatly miss Glen's presence. He was always welcoming and friendly. We have been praying for him on the ODF Prayer Chain and praising God for His miracles on behalf of Glen. We were encouraged in our faith as we watched Glen and Laura fight this disease together and with their friends. We are praying for Laura, and both families as they grieve the loss of a wonderful man who loved Jesus.

We were so devastated for you when we received the news of Glen's death.  I know he was surrounded by you all and the love helped him on his journey.  I know angels came to greet him and take him to the Lord.  He is so happy right now and out of his pain and suffering.  You will see him again one day and oh what a reunion that will be.
