

It is with deep sadness, and heavy hearts, after a glorious life of 75 years, that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, Godmother, and friend, Gloria M. Castro. Gloria moved on with the angels of God to heaven at 9:20 A.M., Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Maryvale Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Tony, two of her sons, Tony Jr. and Stephen, and a grandson, Matthew.
The birth of Gloria came on January 5, 1937, in Yuma, Arizona, as a second child of John G. and Frances Cano Morales. Gloria, soon after graduating from Yuma Union High School, went to work for the United States Bureau of Reclamation. When moving to Phoenix, Gloria stayed on as a government employee, with a transfer to the Department of Energy, where she worked until retirement. She made quite an impression with a lot of her coworkers there. She had devoted 40 years of service to the United States Government.
Those left to mourn Gloria’s passing include Tony Castro, her loving husband of 60 years; her three sons, Tony Jr. (Cathy), Andy (Maryjo), and Stephen; her five grandchildren, Stephanie, Tommy, Annemarie, Anthony S., and Matthew; her six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mason, Christian, Anthony E., Kensie, and Brooklyn; her two sisters, Mary Louise Orta and Frances Salinetti, her brother John O. Morales (Amanda); as well as her many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews, Godchildren, and her very wonderful friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, several uncles, aunts, cousins, and last but not least, her third grandson Joseph Castro.
Visitation (public viewing) for Gloria will begin at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Greer Wilson Chapel , followed by the Rosary at 11:00 A.M., a Catholic funeral service at 12:00 noon, followed by an escorted Funeral Procession to Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Avondale, Arizona. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel Greer Wilson Chapel 5921 W. Thomas Rd. Phoenix, AZ, 85033
A reception will take place after the Burial Service. Maps will be handed out for directions.
