Grover was born in Bienville, Louisiana, on April 29, 1936, and died in Phoenix, Arizona on January 16, 2020 at the age of 83. The child of Emanual and Trudie Bullock, he was the fourth of six, and grew up with three brothers and two sisters.
He began his working life at the age of 16, and worked a variety of jobs in Louisiana, Texas, Washington, and Arizona. Grover was drafted into the US Army and served honorably until his discharge in December, 1964. During his time in the army, he met Barbara June Bates, and the two married January 6th, 1962. They were married for 58 years.
For the majority of his life, Grover worked multiple jobs at once to support his family and also operated his own mobile home setup and service business. His final job was as Facilities Manager for Progressive Insurance, from which he retired at the age of 80. In all his jobs, he was universally liked, valued, and respected by his employers, employees and coworkers.
Grover leaves behind his wife Barbara; three sons, Gregory, Jonathan, and Bryan; five grandchildren; a brother; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
He was deeply loved, and will be missed.
Funeral service and visitation will be January 27, 2020 at 10 a.m., at North Mountain Christian Assembly, 341 E Mountain View Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85020. Interment service to follow at 1:30 PM, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23209 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
