

After a short battle with cancer, Ginny passed away on 10/19/2011. Ginny was the first born to CV and Helen Shepherd in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa where she majored in Music and played the clarinet in the marching band. She was very active in the Chi Omega Sorority. It was at the University where she met and married the love of her life, Paul W. Knowles. They were married on January 25, 1946. Adopted into this union were Sue and twins, Paul Jr. and Debbi . The young couple spent many years in Davenport, IA raising their family while Ginny supported the political career of her husband and maintained a busy household. During this time she became a master of stitchery. They later moved to Jackson, Wyoming where they had purchased a Radio Station and finished raising the family in a small town atmosphere. In 1974, Ginny and Paul's adventures brought them to Douglas, AZ where they had purchased another Radio Station. After the sales of both stations, they relocated to Phoenix. Ginny and Paul traveled many years in the motor coach after Paul's retirement. They joined the family motor coach association. They traveled many years to a variety of destinations throughout the US and Canada, making friends within the network of the FMCA. Paul was the President of the AZ Chapter while Ginny played her clarinet with the "Misfit Mystros". She later traveled abroad with daughter Sue and stateside and Canada with Debbi. Ginny has lived at the Terraces Retirement Community for the last 6 years amongst a host of wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include her brother Vance, daughter, Sue (Kurt) Curtis, daughter, Debbi (Les) Blair, son, Paul Jr., 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
