Helen S. McLendon, daughter of Getty Zane and Elmer Swallow was born in Welborn, Kansas on August 16, 1924 and departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on March 15, 2021 in Phoenix, AZ. She was the youngest of 11 children and as the baby of the family was lovingly known as Babe. Survivors include nieces, Rosetta Apostle, Phoenix, AZ, Connie Spears, Phoenix, AZ, Barbara Shafer, Lake Havasu, AZ, Marlene Smith, K.C., MO, LeAnn Quigley, Spring TX, and nephew Robert Hathhorn. Babe was proud to be a registered Wyandote Indian. She was loved by all that knew her and is greatly missed.
