

He moved his family to Arizona in 1963 due to the health of his youngest child. In 1967 he became a Civil Service employee where he worked in support of the Arizona National Guard and he was also a member of the National Guard. He retired in 1990 and worked for the Washington School District until July of 1995. He was in the US Army and the National Guard from May of 1953 until July of 1990 for a total of 37 years he gave for his Country.
Howard was a member of Flagstaff Lodge #7, F&AM; Scottish Rite; Order of the Eastern Star; Order of the Amaranth; the American Legion; and The First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Glendale, Arizona.
Howard was preceded in death by his mother Margarite Lutes and his father Roland Davis. He is survived by his wife Lois, his two children, Phyllis Kennedy (Steve) and Larry Davis (Sharee). He has 2 granddaughters Tamara Thomas and Lindsey Smith. He also has two great granddaughters, Kaylin Joy Smith and Sarah Michelle Thomas. He is also survived by sisters Betty & Margaret and brother William Thomas all of whom live in Ohio.
