Irene Estrella

70 passed away peacefully on January 23, 2014 at her home in Phoenix, AZ. Irene was born in Corpus Christi, TX in June of 1943. She moved to Arizona in 1958. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Marcelino & Lillie Olivarez & sister Barbara Garcia. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Fred Estrella, son Paul Estrella, daughters Elisa Estrella and Lily Garcia. Brothers, Marcelino Olivarez and spouse Nicholasa, Mario Olivarez and spouse Barbara, Gilbert Olivarez and spouse Alicia, Ralph Tarango and spouse Annie, sisters Delia Gravina and spouse John and Linda Delgado. Five grandchildren Patrick, Erica, Chad, Sloan, and Rylee. Two great-grandchildren Bobby and Isaiah. She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, Oma, sister, aunt, godmother and friend. In the 1960's she worked for the state welfare department and later for the Isaac School District at J.B. Sulton School. She retired after 23 years of working in special education. She was happiest when spending time with her family, reading, camping and traveling. There is a new shinning "Estrella" in heaven as of 01-23-14. We love you….Services will be held on January 29, 2014 at Funeraria del Angel Greer Wilson Chapel, located at 5921 W. Thomas Rd. Phoenix, AZ. Visitation begins at 5 to 6pm, services begin at 6 to 8pm.
