Jose Daniel Avila was born on March 29th, 1976 in Southern California. He grew up alongside his little brother Steve Avila, mother Marisol Avila, and father Jose Avila. He became a father at the age of 16, welcoming his daughter Donna Avila into the world. He began working alongside his father in the construction industry, to ensure he could provide for his daughter and family. His father, mother, brother, and daughter instilled an extremely hard working mentality in him. Daniel always took pride in his work, and became one of the hardest working individuals in his industry. For fun, his love for lowriders was immense. He cruised the streets of California in his green 1969 Impala Super Sport, jumping the car with it's hydraulics, playing his lowrider oldies on full blast. He loved horseback riding, and took trips to Rosarito Mexico with the family to ride horses on the beach. In 2014 he moved to Arizona with his family, he remained in the construction industry, and spent a majority of his spare time with his family. He loved dogs, and brought home Oliver, a red nose pitbull about a year later. In 2017 Daniel's father, Jose Avila passed away and ascended to heaven. This was a tragic loss for all, but especially for Daniel and his brother Steve, as their love for their father was indescribable. Daniel was a kid at heart and loved the outdoors, riding jet skis on Lake Pleasant, going fishing, off-roading and camping in Flagstaff, having a cold red Tecate beer on the porch after a long day of work with Oliver by his side. He loved sweets, chocolate, pan dulce, horchata, and you'd occasionally catch him munching away in the living room watching Family Guy, with a huge bowl of cereal in his hands and a large cooking spoon, happy as can be. Daniel took pride in supporting and taking care of his family. There was never a job too big for him, and he always welcomed a challenge. He happily spent his free time upgrading his mother and step father Chucks home in Glendale, adding new floor boards, cementing the backyard, you name it. Aside from his family at home Daniel also took care of his family at work, and began his career at Sargon. If there's one thing you could say about Daniel, it's that he was real. There was nothing inorganic about him. His love was real, his advice was real, his friendships were real, his care and concern was real. He told you what you needed to hear, whether it's what you wanted to hear or not. Daniel had this way about him, where he brought everyone under his wing of protection. He made you feel secure, and ensured no one was disrespected in his presence. He was stern in his character, and believed in doing the right thing and taking care of his people, his raza, and that's exactly what he did. He quickly climbed up the ranks and became the Superintendent at Sargon, a company that he was proud to be a part of and a career he rightfully worked hard for and earned. The friendships that Daniel developed in Arizona and at Sargon are immeasurable. And it's not hard to see why, Daniel was funny, comical even, never failing to put a smile on the faces of those around him. He was dependable and reliable. There wasn't a call for help Daniel wouldn't take. If you needed him, he was there. Whether you were a friend, family, co worker, it was all the same to him. And he always did it with love, because complaining was never a part of his vocabulary. There were three passions in his life, his Mother, his family, and his work. These passions were not work they were satisfaction for Daniel. Marisol, as his Mother, couldn't be more proud of her son. And her biggest blessing is that He knew how proud she was of him, and that she will always love him. His daughter shares that same pride, because her father was an incredible man, he was a lion, with the biggest heart. Daniel will be missed and remembered by all, but let us remember his life, and all the light he illuminated on us. Let us bask in all the beautiful memories and laughs he gave us. Daniel will look down on us from heaven, alongside his father Jose Avila, his grandmother, and all those that welcomed him with a huge smile on his face. He's living his absolute best and eternal life with our God and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you to all those that loved him and cared for him. Please do not send flowers, as they will go bad and we will be unable to take them with us after the service. Please share a story about him, a picture, a memory, so we can continue to celebrate his life and carry on his legacy.
A visitation for Jose will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Funeraria del Angel Greer-Wilson Chapel, 5921 West Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85033.
