James William Barron, age 70, of Anthem, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018. He was born on November 8, 1947 to the late James and Lucretia (Click) Barron in Dayton, OH. Jim attended Wilbur Wright High School graduating class of 1966; then briefly furthered his education at Wright State University before proudly enlisting with the United State Air Force. On April 10, 1969 he married Starr Prutzman in Washington, PA. Jim was a Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office until his retirement in 2007. After retirement he enjoyed serving as a Docent for the Phoenix Art Museum and studying the arts. Jim also enjoyed fishing and vacationing; but most of all Sunday dinners with all of the family. He is survived by his loving spouse of 49 years, Starr; two children, Jason Barron and Nichole (Chuck) Hale; his sister, Vickie (Bob) Stewart; three grandchildren, Savanna (Wes) Charrier, Christopher Mackay, and Sophia Hale; a step-grandchild, MacKenzie Hale; two great grandchildren, Mason and Mia Charrier; and many other loving family and friends. Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, August 17, 2018, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's honor may be made to the Barrow Neurological Institute Center for Transitional Neuro-Rehabilitation or Mayday Pitbull Rescue.
