On Saturday September 26, James Franklin Dickey passed away at the age of 73. Jim was born on March 29, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas to Samuel and Norma Dickey. Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era as a radio teletype operator. Jim was married to Judy “Jae” Blacker Dickey in 1970 and later had a son and two grand children. Jim had a passion for cycling, sports, pool tournaments, woodworking, and playing card games with family. Both Jim and his wife made great friends in the local sports bar cheering on their football teams. Jim passed peacefully in his sleep after his intense battle with cancer. Private services were held to honor is passing. He is now at rest amongst his beloved wife, mother, and father. His memory lives on in his son, brother, two sisters, sister in-law, two granddaughters and many close friends and family.
