James was born on April 19, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to Forest and Louise Guyton. He attended high school in Big Sandy, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University.
James retired in 1999 after working 31 years at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. He supervised the Air Quality Monitoring Program at ADEQ.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Verna Fay; Daughter, Karen Fay and his son Lawrence.
A graveside service for James will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
